Backpacking Boston/Salem/Newport ¨CSample travel plans and tips
May 24, 2008 Flight to Boston Logan airport
Note: end of May is a good season to go to Boston because it's still "off-season" but the weather is not too cold for any outdoor activities. air fare and hotel rates are not very high at this time. but most tour starts from begining of June. from airport to town, take silver line bus to south station, then change subway lines.Afternoon, walk around neighborhood of backbay area. stroll along Boylston St (shopping, dinning, public library, trinity church, Boston public garden); Commonwealth Ave (residential street with pleasant linear urban oasis); Newbury St (fine dinning, gift, shopping); Beacon St (residential street with styled townhouses); then walk or sit along Charles river, enjoy the view, the breeze and the feel the energy of the city.
